Sculpture During The Golden Age.

In Spain, sculpture evolves from stable naturalism to the expression of feelings, suffering, exalted spiritualism, death, misery, and extasis. The artists deal preferably with religious themes, mainly bloody scenes of martyrdom showing the transition from death to glory.

The predominant technique is painting on a gilt surface, using polychromed woods and flaming forms.
