Saturnino Herran adopts a new style: Synthetism,
named like this due to a marked tendency to simplify. It is inspired in
the daily life and traditions of the Mexicans, and it takes into consideration
indigenous beauty.
He draws people and catches their expressions.
He is first to use a new technique which mixes color pencil and water-color
in the same painting.
Among his works, The Offering and The Woman’s Shawl
deserve a special mention.
