Mural painting florishes in Mexico at the end of the Mexican Revolution. The social changes generate a new conscience and a new way of looking at life. In art this implies: Mexicanism, Humanism, and Universalism.
Mural painting is an answer to the spiritual changes brought to Mexico by revolutionary ideals and political peace. Jose Vasconcelos, in charge of education and art at that time, calls several Mexican painters and requests them to decorate public buildings. In Mexico City three mural painters can be distinguished:
